Plenty to celebrate in Cambridge tonight as the CSD Vikings route the Crisfield Crabbers 73-10. Though the game may not have been the most entertaining, history was made nonetheless. Senior Le'Asia Todd has become the first player in CSD history to record both 1,000 points and rebounds in her basketball career. From someone who "was literally a cheerleader" to arguably CSD's best center to date, Le'Asia's path has been both historic and humble. "It's a blessing to be able to do this for CSD and it's kind of mind blowing I was able to do this in the first place. It's a one in a lifetime chance and I hope someone can come and break my record too." And to no surprise, no one could be more proud than the Vikings head coach Shamya Johnson Stover. From her freshman year, Coach Stover has been pushing Le'Asia to be her best, and she's glad to finally have an athlete moving on to the next level. "The state championships and all that stuff is good, but if a girls goal is to get to the next level I (and my coaching staff) want to do whatever we can to get her to the next level. I'm excited, and happy, to say that we have a young lady that is committed to play at the next level." Le'Asia Todd is committed to have a full ride to the University of the District of Columbia where she will compete in both basketball and track and field. Perhaps we'll see more records set by our CSD star yet.
